Career Biography & Timeline
🎙️ Dynamic Duo, comprised of childhood friends Choiza and Gaeko, is arguably the most influential and enduring hip-hop duo in South Korean music history. Before their official debut under this moniker, the two were key members of the underground hip-hop trio CB Mass. Following that group's dissolution, they rebranded and re-emerged as Dynamic Duo in 2004, instantly reshaping the landscape of K-hip-hop and dragging the genre directly into the mainstream consciousness.
🏆 Their debut album, Taxi Driver, shattered records to become the best-selling hip-hop album in South Korea at the time. Propelled by massive hits that resonated with both underground hip-hop heads and the general public, they became household names. In 2006, they took a monumental step in their career by founding Amoeba Culture. This independent record label would eventually house, shape, and nurture some of the brightest talents in the Korean R&B and hip-hop scene, including artists like Crush, Zion.T, and Primary.
📈 Over the past two decades, Dynamic Duo has consistently released chart-topping albums and remained highly relevant, successfully bridging the gap between old-school roots and modern trends. From serving their mandatory military duties together in 2009 to appearing as revered producers on multiple seasons of the hit rap survival show Show Me The Money, Choiza and Gaeko have cemented their legacy as the untouchable veterans of the industry. Their landmark 10th studio album, 2 Kids On The Block, released across 2023 and 2024, proved that even after twenty years, their lyrical wit and musical chemistry remain completely unmatched.
